TD 23 February 2024 09:29 GMT GB-EAL, interim adoption of ISO 3166 to roughly geolocate items tracked in the Changelog. E.g. "GB-EAL", GB for The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, EAL for The London Borough of Ealing, where this change was implemented. This will bring insight to the nomadic nature of this project, track where ideas originate and are enacted. The changelog timestamp is now formatted as follows: First and second initials of the author, timestamp, ISO 3166 alpha-2 country code and alpha-3 subdivision code (ISO 3166-2 code), finally a comma for delimitation.

†A note on timestamps: Most 'computer people' prefer the ISO 8601 format (yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssZ) because it is 'human readable' and has a specified time zone. We've progressed beyond 80 character monitors and 2400 baud modems. My "New International" (dd MMM yyyy HH:mm zzz) format mitigates the same usability problems as ISO 8601 while being much more 'humanistic.' Using 'European' day first formatting, spelling out the month, using 24-hour 'military' time, and specifying the time zone, makes this timestamp formatting, in my opinion, as easy to read as possible while leaving little room for mistaken interpretation across the widest range of English language readers.
